MathCON 2027

MathCON is a popular mathematics competition for students in grades 4–12 across the United States and Canada. The competition is organized by a nonprofit organization of the same name and attracts more than 50,000 participants each year.

The MathCON contest consists of two stages: the preliminary round and the final round. In the preliminary stage, students take an online test according to their grade level. The test covers various areas of mathematics (such as algebra, geometry, probability, etc.) with a total of 32 questions. Students must complete the questions within the allotted time, and their scores determine whether they qualify for the finals.

In the final stage, top-performing students from the preliminary round travel to Chicago to compete in person. The final round questions are more challenging and complex, requiring students to provide accurate answers within a limited time. Based on their performance in the finals, students are awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention prizes. Each Gold medalist receives a $200 Amazon gift card, Silver medalists receive $100, and Bronze medalists receive $50.

The purchase here refers to registration for the 2027 MathCON preliminary round. All registered students will also receive 16 weeks of practice problems to help them prepare for the prelims.

• Preliminary Round Results Released: Friday, March 19, 2027 at 11:00 AM CT
• In-Person Finals (Chicago): Saturday, May 29, 2027

Past Results

• 2026: 1st Place National Team Award in both the Elementary and Middle School Divisions; 19 students received individual awards
• 2025: 1st place in Elementary division, 3rd place in Middle School division, with 20 individual student winners
• 2024: 1st place in Elementary School division, with 22 individual student winners
• 2023: 1 Honorable Mention award
