• ISEE Test Prep

The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) is a standardized test developed by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). It is widely used by private and independent schools in the United States and abroad as part of their admissions process.

The ISEE is designed to assess a student's reasoning and academic achievement in key areas such as verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, and mathematics. Its goal is to provide schools with a fair, consistent measure of a student's readiness for success at academically rigorous institutions.

The ISEE is available for students applying to grades 2 through 12, and it is divided into four levels based on the student's current grade:

    • Primary Level: For students applying to Grades 2–4
    • Lower Level: For students applying to Grades 5–6
    • Middle Level: For students applying to Grades 7–8
    • Upper Level: For students applying to Grades 9–12

  • SHSAT Test Prep

The New York City high school entrance exam, SHSAT, is currently one of the most competitive exams for the high school education stage in New York City, second only to Hunter College High School. The SHSAT is administered by the Department of Education and is a standardized test offered to New York City residents seeking admission to the city’s specialized high schools. The admissions process for these public specialized high schools is separate from regular high school applications and is highly selective. Based on experience over past years, among the more than 30,000 students who take the SHSAT, only about 18%, roughly 5,000 students, are admitted to these specialized high schools.

The SHSAT entrance exam covers two subjects: English and Mathematics. There is no writing section. The entire test is completed in one sitting of three hours, with both English and Math using multiple-choice questions. The Math section also includes five grid-in questions. Regardless of a student’s performance in middle school, admission to these elite high schools depends solely on the SHSAT score, which makes thorough exam preparation extremely important.

The instructor is a current university English professor with over 15 years of professional experience teaching SAT, SHSAT, and ACT English. Many of her students have been admitted to prestigious universities and Ivy League schools.
