John Locke（约翰·洛克）写作竞赛是一个全球知名，含金量很高的写作竞赛，适合全球 18 岁及以下的学生参加。竞赛分为高年级组和低年级组两个级别。
高年级组（18 岁及以下）分为哲学、政治、经济学、历史、心理学、神学和法律等七个学科类别，每个类别中有 3 个问题，参赛者从中选出一个题目来拓展，写出一篇不超过 2,000 字的议论文。
低年级组（14 岁及以下）不分类别，共 5 个问题。参赛者同样选择一个题目来进行写作，字数不超过 2,000 字。
